Sen. Alexander Says Build Nuclear Power Plants, Obama Says Cut the Budget

The weekly party radio addresses took on a greater contrast than usual, today, when Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.) called for building 100 new nuclear power plants in the U.S. as an alternative to pouring billions into wind and solar energy.

President Obama, on the other hand, devoted his radio address, today, to "fiscal discipline," which he described as "one of the pillars" of a new foundation for lasting prosperity. No doubt taking a line that was provided to him by the behaviorist clique that surrounds him, he insisted that "we need to reform our government so that it is more efficient, more transparent and more creative," and demanded that Congress adopt a litany of measures so that the Federal government will be forced to balance its budget "the same way any responsible family does."
