LaRouche: Don't Let the Obama "Cover-Up Administration" Off the Hook—WHO Declares Phase 6
June 11, 2009 • 7:13PM

Today the World Health Organization announced the decision to shift into a Phase 6 alert for a "full-blown" pandemic, presented by officials as the "first pandemic of the 21st century." WHO Director Dr. Margaret Chan said that her officials arrived at a "unanimous decision" based on the "indisputable evidence that we are at the beginning days of a global pandemic caused by the new H1N1 virus."

The undeniable reality of the pandemic threat and today's WHO action throw a snag into the rush-rush timetable in Washington, D.C. for the White House Nazi-medicine "reform" of U.S. health care. Washington insiders have reported that whirlwind Congressional passage of "comprehensive reform" legislation was demanded by Obama and his controllers—Larry Summers, Peter Orszag et al, so that the President could sign it into law no later than October 1, the official beginning of the influenza season, after which it would be harder to keep up any pretense that his Hitler-style medical cuts were anything but deadly.

Lyndon LaRouche said of the intent of this conniving, "The Obama Administration is trying to cover up its problem. It's trying to suppress this information until October. The Obama Administration is engaged in a cover-up because that's what they do—this is a cover-up Administration. They cover-up more so than any Administration in modern times." He said, "Go after this! Be like a bull-dog. Don't let them off the hook on anything. Hit them hard."

— 28,000 H1N1 Cases in 74 Countries —

As of today, some 28,000 laboratory-confirmed cases are reported in 74 countries, with 141 deaths. After Australia, Chile reported 1300 cases in the last 48 hours, bringing the total for Chile to 1700. The four areas of autonomous transmission are North America, South America, Australia and Asia.

In Hongkong, all primary schools and pre-schools were closed for at least two weeks today. The first case of the flu contracted locally was discovered only a few days ago, but 12 children in one school became infected yesterday, leading to the general closure affecting 500,000 children.

The situation in Egypt presents special concern. The government announced two new cases of humans infected with avian flu. According to the WHO, so far, out of the 78 cases of people infected in Egypt, 28 died. The potential "mixing bowl" effect is much to be feared here, and elsewhere, especially in Asia, of genetic-crosses between H1N1 and H5N1 (avian flu), that might be more deadly and more transmissible than either of those current flu strains respectively.

Today in Europe, the Stockholm-based European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC) reported that some 91 new case were reported, 75 of which in Britain alone. In Düsseldorf, a school with infected Japanese pupils was also closed.

In Lyon, France, the P4 European High Level Security Laboratory (EHLS), which normally handles only the most deadly viruses such as Ebola, is also preparing to receive the new influenza virus since "it doesn't behave as expected." The World Bank approved an additional $500 million grant in an expedited procedure to assist countries to face the new influenza pandemic. The grant completes an initial $500 million credit granted in 2006 to fight the avian flu.

In Paris, yesterday morning, a joint press conference was given by the French Interior Minister Michèle Alliot-Marie, Health Minister Roselyne Bachelot and Francoise Weber who heads the National Institute on Sanitarian Alertness. Alliot-Marie started by stating that since the "developments" in the U.K., France would take the same precautions as those taken for passengers coming in from Mexico and the U.S. for those coming from Britain, where 666 laboratory confirmed cases are now reported. In Britain, the disease manifests itself in "clusters," especially groups of adolescent. Over 20 schools, including the oligarchic school of Eton, have been closed to prevent influenza transmissions.
