As was presented elsewhere on this website, the NAWAPA program, if seen correctly, represents the choice to take responsibility for the destiny of all life on Earth, and it is a foretaste of what is yet to come, the managed extension of life into the rest of our solar system and beyond, a future that can only be ushered in by man.

Beyond the scope of the NAWAPA system itself, the full implementation and construction of the NAWAPA implies new logistical supply lines, industrial development, and management of resources in new areas, leading to what is in fact the full development of the continent, for the first time in human history.
