Over the past five years it has been clearly and repeatedly demonstrated that the current economic system, and its leading defender, Barack Obama, are operating to destroy the United States and its population. To save our nation and our posterity we have to create a new future, one based on the technologies and energy sources of the future—fusion power—and on cooperation with the nations of the planet oriented towards growth and progress: those of the Asian, trans-Pacific region.

The Obama administration’s continuation of a killer zero-growth (i.e. green) policy has taken the horrible conditions of the U.S. economy following George W. Bush and the 2007-2008 crash, and made everything much worse across the board. The facts speak for themselves:

  • The number of Americans in poverty has increased every year since 2008.
  • 28 states in the United States now have a real youth unemployment of over 30%; only three states were at this level in 2008.
  • Over 47 million Americans are now on food stamps; up from 18 million in the late 1990s, and 28 million when Obama came into office.
  • Prices of essential foods have risen 40% to 100%, or more, while wages have only increased 20% (2000 to 2012).
  • Electricity prices have increased twice as fast as wages (2000 to 2012).
  • The percentage of working-age Americans who are actually part of the labor force (the “labor force participation rate”) has fallen every single year since 2008; the collapse from 66% to less than 63% (2008-2012) is far worse than the fall from 67% to 66% over the previous ten years (1999 to 2008).
"We wouldn't need new technologies. We wouldn't need to invent some fancy new fusion energy or anything. If we just took our existing building stock in homes and insulated them, had new windows—schools, hospitals, a lot of big institutions—we could squeeze huge efficiencies out of that."

Barack Obama, speaking to a group of voters in Virginia on the economy; September, 2010

This reality was presented in depth by Lyndon LaRouche and his associates during an international webcast on November, 15, 2013, and the case is clear: the American people are now much worse off than they were five years ago, and the future of our nation depends upon a fundamental change in direction.

But how do we solve this? This will be the subject of a live webcast address to the American people by members of Lyndon LaRouche’s “Basement Research Team” on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 3:00pm EST.

"Fusion is a grand conception. Humankind cannot do without energy for its existence and development, and energy utilization won't be sustainable without science and technology. Fusion research will pave a bright way for humankind in energy alternatives."

Chinese President Xi Jinping (as Vice President), during an April, 2011 visit to China’s EAST Superconducting Tokamak

Human society, by its very nature, demands growth! Specifically, human progress can be measured by the increasing “energy flux density” of society, and the next stage in human development—fusion power—is actually much closer than you might think. Despite being suppressed and delayed for decades, fusion holds the promise of not only meeting all the energy needs for a growing global population, but provides the basis to address all the resource, food, and water needs as well.

While Europe is still under the grip of a zero-growth paradigm, it is across the Pacific that the United States has inherent allies in the creation of a new future, a fusion-based economy. China, Russia, South Korea, Japan, and other nations are ready for an alliance with the United States, premised on a pro-growth, high-technology development of the trans-Pacific region. This includes great water projects, high-speed rail, and associated mega-projects which will transform the territory stretching westward from the Mississippi, deep into the Asian continent, creating a new era of prosperity and development over the next two generations.
It is up to us to make this alliance a reality, and set this nation on the right path.
