Bloodshed Mounts In Ukraine, Moscow Accurately Pins the Blame

The massively outgunned anti-Kiev militias pulled out of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk today, to regroup in and around the city of Donetsk, possibly especially at the airport, and further fighting is expected.

Friday, July 4, a Russian Foreign Ministry statement reported by ITAR-Tass pointed the finger at those most responsible for the bloodshed and the slide towards general war. "Kiev's continuing attempts to resolve problems exclusively by military means, through ultimatums and by making new demands, contradict provisions of the Berlin declaration of the German, Russia, Ukrainian and French foreign ministers of July 2 and only lead to bloodshed and new human losses.

"Tough rhetoric of the Ukrainian authorities and activation of combat operations in the east of Ukraine can be observed after the July 3 phone conversations between Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, as well as between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin and British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs William Hague, that in essence supported Kiev's actions."
