Lyndon LaRouche Interview with Press TV, September 12, 2014

LAROUCHE: It's a farce, it's just another farce. And there's nothing good going to come out of it. People have to come to their senses in terms of the general Asian area, as well as other parts of the world. They can not do what they are trying to do now, except by making themselves historically foolish...

Iran's PressTV interviewed Lyndon LaRouche during its live noon news broadcast on Sept. 12. Here is the transcript.

HOST: Well, the head of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso has warned that the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine is not enough to achieve long-term peace. Barroso, in a meeting with the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said, the ceasefire is certainly a positive step, but it's still insufficient to guarantee sustainable peace. He criticized Moscow over "its unacceptable behavior in Ukraine." He said new EU sanctions showed that the bloc doesn't hesitate in responding decisively to Russia's action. He said the sanctions were aimed at bringing Russia to the conclusion that it is better to have positive, constructive relations with both Ukraine and the European Union. Barroso said the 28-nation bloc is willing to help the warring sides achieve a political solution that preserves Ukraine's territorial integrity.

We're talking to Lyndon LaRouche, who is a former U.S. Presidential candidate and is also part of LaRouche Political Action Committee, who is joining live now from Leesburg. Mr. LaRouche, thanks very much for joining us here on Press TV.

Now how do you feel about this what the head of the European Commission said, especially at a time when he himself, it is a positive development that there is a ceasefire?

LAROUCHE: It's a farce, it's just another farce. And there's nothing good going to come out of it. People have to come to their senses in terms of the general Asian area, as well as other parts of the world. They can not do what they are trying to do now, except by making themselves historically foolish.

Q: And so, going forward, Mr. LaRouche, when we speak about the ceasefire and the talks that are meant to take place, as well, to try to resolve this issue, how much confidence do you have that that may succeed?

LAROUCHE: It's a farce, it's an absolute farce. They're just going to go through more and more nonsense. There is no reality, there is nothing good in any of this crap.

Q: And many people say, Mr. LaRouche, that this is a new Cold War, or a new arms race. Do you sign on to any of those?

LAROUCHE: Well, the Cold War is coming from our President of the United States, for example. He's one of the cold warriors, and you see him also in the Middle East doing the same kind of thing. So we're used to this kind of fraud, such as that. And this has nothing to do with the actual issue involved in terms of Russia.

Q: So what exactly is the gameplan of the United States and the West, when it comes to Russia, then?

LAROUCHE: When it comes to Obama, the issue is to crush Russia entirely. And that's the only terms that they will offer.

Q: Okay. On that note, we'll leave it there, but of course, we do appreciate your taking your time to speak to us. That was Mr. Lyndon LaRouche who was speaking to us live by Skype from Leesburg.

LAROUCHE: Thank you.
